How do I add a Home Screen widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen, choose Edit, then Add Widget. Find Currency and choose Small or Medium. On earlier iOS versions, tap the plus button. The Home Screen and widget picker use the short name Currency.
Touch and hold an installed widget and choose Edit Widget to select both directions or one direction from your active pair.
Can I put it on my Lock Screen?
Touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customise, then select the Lock Screen and tap the widget area below the clock. Find Currency and choose its rectangular widget.
Why has my widget not refreshed yet?
iOS decides when installed widgets refresh. Pocket Currency reuses recently saved rates and requests updates periodically; exact times are not guaranteed.
Open the app to check the active pair and the Updated timestamp. Pull down on the main screen to refresh. After changing references or the pair, allow iOS time to update your widget.
Does it work offline?
A downloaded rate can be used offline for the same currency pair, including its reverse direction. A pair with no saved rate needs an internet connection first.
If an update fails, the app keeps the saved rate and its original Updated time. Retry when a connection is available.
What does Updated mean?
Updated is the date and time of the last successful rate fetch. It is not a promise that the provider published a new rate at that moment.
Frankfurter provides reference rates, generally updated daily. Your bank, card or exchange provider may use a different rate or charge fees.
How do I change the reference amounts?
Open the app and tap Edit beside the currency’s Quick reference list. Add or change amounts, or tap Reorder and drag the handles. Tap Save to keep the draft, or Cancel to leave the saved list unchanged.
Reference amounts belong to each currency and are shared with widgets. Keep one to ten unique amounts greater than zero, up to 1 billion. Remove an amount to make room when the list is full. The converter offers Edit amounts when a new amount cannot be added.
Medium widgets show up to the first four saved amounts per displayed direction. Larger text sizes show fewer amounts; open the app for the full list.
My widget says “Choose a direction”.
A one-direction widget stays attached to its source currency. If that currency leaves the app’s active pair, edit the widget and choose a current direction.
Why does my widget show fewer amounts?
The number of visible amounts depends on widget size, direction, text size and the space needed for the values. Medium widgets show up to four amounts per direction at standard text sizes.
Widgets use the amounts at the top of your reference list. Use Edit and Reorder in the app to choose their order, or open the app to see the full list.
How is my information handled?
Your conversion amounts and reference lists are not sent to the rate provider. Read the privacy policy for details of rate requests, local storage, this website and support email.
